This should be really embarassing for LaCie (though it's not as bad as what happens with Seagate)
A brand new LaCie d2 USB 3.0 drive, delivered today, comes with Mac software which requires PowerPC compatibility. No Mac with USB 3.0 is able to run this software!
Someone at LaCie doesn't seem to be thinking through their products very carefully.
Of course, the first thing to do with an external drive is to reformat it, and wipe out any software supplied by the vendor. Were they trying to make sure that the supplied software can't be run, even by accident?
